October’s Loftus Ward PCSO Update
During September, Loftus Ward recorded 32 crime reports and 27 reports of anti‑social behaviour. Anti‑social behaviour incidents involved: Over the last few months I have reported that multi-agency work has been taking place with the Anti-Social Behaviour Officer at Redcar and Cleveland Council. I can now provide an update that 3 properties have successfully been closed down on Gladstone St, Loftus due to a significant amount of reports regarding persistent Anti-Social Behaviour and Crime, in and around the properties. This has been achieved with the support from residents who I hope will now notice a positive difference in their quality of life. I would encourage anyone else who may be affected by similar issues to report such issues to Police / Redcar and Cleveland Council as such behaviour will not be tolerated. Other work of note that has recently been taking place over the last few week 1 male from the Loftus ward was searched on East Street under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. A large knife was located on his person with a significant amount of controlled drugs. Subsequently the male was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of a controlled substance. The male was arrested and is awaiting a court date. 2/9/26 Male arrested from the Loftus ward in Saltburn for Outrage in Public Decency. Also arrested for being in possession of Class C and assault police. 24/9/26 Community Protection Warning issued to a female in the Loftus Ward following complaints regarding cannabis. 24/9/26 Acting on information supplied to Police, a vehicle was seized from the Loftus ward after being sighted driven. The driver had no driving licence and no insurance. 26/9/26 1 male youth from the Loftus ward was arrested in the Redcar area for being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and criminal damage to a police vehicle. Another youth within the group was dealt with for being in possession of cannabis and others within the group for consuming alcohol and assault police. 26/9/26 Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a speed awareness initiative in Carlin How. Whilst giving advice regarding speed, further checks proved that 1 vehicle was being driven with no insurance and another with no driving licence and no insurance. These vehicles were from Liverton Mines and Easington, both were seized. 27/9/26 Male from the Loftus ward arrested for multiple theft offences and breach of Criminal Behaviour Order. Male was given a 2 week sentence, suspended for 12 months. 27/9/26 Partnership working with Redcar and Cleveland Council following reports of a property in Liverton Mines being open to access and regularly being frequented by local youths. Once again Police are receiving an increase of reports regarding off road motorcycles being ridden in and around Liverton Mines. We follow up every report. These bikes are often stored within residential areas, so if you see an off-road bike regularly coming or going from a particular address , please tell us. Public information is vital in enabling Police to take further action. There has recently been an increase in youth related disorder around Duncan Place, Temperance Square and Loftus High Street. Reports to Police include the following behaviour, climbing onto the roofs on buildings and damaging tiles, propelling items from a height onto the pavements, damaging outdoor lighting, scaling scaffolding and throwing wheelie bins down obstructing alley ways and into the path of oncoming traffic. Every report is followed up and lines of enquiry taken to identify persons responsible which will enable us to take further action with these individuals. | ||
